West Seattle Blog… | Guest Appearance at Reserved Town Hall and Other District 1 Community Network Notes

For months the District 1 Community Network talked about trying to get the mayor Bruce Harrel make an appearance at one of their monthly meetings. As the West Seattle and South Park Community Advocates Coalition gathered tonight, the D1CN administrator larry wymer announced that the mayor has committed to being at their May 4 meeting. D1CN continues to meet online, so it will likely be a virtual appearance. … Another topic of municipal politics discussed this evening was the redistricting of the municipal council. Elsa Batres-Boni of the city talked about the Redistricting commission, noting that the census results mean the boundaries of District 1 will change for the 2023 elections, although new maps have yet to be finalized. The final version is expected in September… D1CN received an update on the Fauntleroy Ferry Wharf Replacement planning process mike dey and Frank Immel of Fauntleroy Community Association. They noted that an all-West Seattle meeting on the project is scheduled for May 24; details to come… D1CN meets first Wednesdays at 7pm, so that’s when you can expect to hear from the mayor on May 4th.
