Texas State Senator Lois Kolkhorst makes a special appearance at Monday’s Burton ISD board meeting.
Kolkhorst will present a proclamation to the Burton FFA and 4-H Livestock judging team. The team recently won the Reserve National Championship title after finishing second in 94and FFA National Convention and Exposition in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Burton ISD Board of Directors meets Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton High School Auditorium.
During part of the meeting, the board will also meet in executive session to discuss the contracts of athletic director Jason Hodde, high school principal Matthew Wamble and elementary school principal Melinda Fuchs.
Other items on the agenda include the creation of a Community/Parental Responsibility Committee. According to superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy, it would be an advisory committee that would serve alongside school staff to help make recommendations during the construction process.
The board will also discuss the proposed schedule for the 2022-2023 school year, playground improvements, and hear a report on the 2020-2021 district and campus academic performance reports in Texas.
