Rain showers appear later this week

7-day forecast:

TONIGHT: Parts of the Ohio Valley woke up to a quick blanket of snow on cars and roads this morning. Other areas received no snow at all. Once the sun started to come out closer to lunchtime, conditions started to warm up outside, although cooler air is locked in for today. Today’s high temperatures struggled to move out of the mid 20s, with temperatures looking like they will also remain in the mid 1920s. Sky cover was partly cloudy for most of the day with clear skies in the afternoon. The clearing trend will continue as we enter the evening hours. Colder air will be here when we wake up tomorrow, as temperatures drop towards the mid-teens. Winds will blow from the southwest around 5 mph.

TUESDAY: A very beautiful day with the return of the high pressure in our region. Even though it was a colder start, we will be uphill with our temperatures. Scattered clouds with more sunshine will best describe the sky cover and temperatures return to the upper 30s. Take advantage of the seasonal end of winter. Warmer air returns tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY: Temperatures will warm up and peak in the mid 50s! However, it won’t be the best day, especially later. We will start the day with partly cloudy skies, with increasing coverage thereafter. Winds will likely be gusty and will remain gusty through Friday as our next weather system moves through the region.

THURSDAY: Our next weather disturbance will likely move into the Ohio Valley starting today. A cold front is advancing and bringing widespread rain to the region. There could also be pockets of heavier and more regular rain. Temperatures will remain in the mid to high 50s with gusty winds likely to persist. Colder air will arrive late in the evening with a possible change to flurries Friday morning. The accumulation will be minimal.

FRIDAY: Persistent snow showers are possible early in the morning. Once the precipitation ends, we might mix in some sunshine for the second half of the day, but temperatures will return to cooler. Our maximum high will be in the lower 30s. It will probably be colder with the wind.

SATURDAY: Scattered clouds and sunshine to start the weekend. High temperatures will be back in the mid 40s.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny with slowly rising thermometers. We will peak in the upper 40s. A great way to roll into the new week.

MONDAY: More sun with some clouds possible. Daytime highs will be in the lower 50s. The high pressure will keep us pretty quiet.
