Rafe Spall stars in a British comedy-drama film – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: WestEnd Films has released a first international trailer for the British comedy-drama Denmarkwith Rafe Spall (Prometheus), before the screening of the film market in Cannes.

Adrian Shergold (funny cow) directs Spall who plays Herb, an unlucky jobless Welshman with bad neighbors and even worse prospects. Discovering that Danish convicts are living a relatively luxurious life he could only dream of, Herb finally has something to aspire to: a life in Denmark… in prison.

Also with Simone Lykke (A funny man), Thomas Gabrielson (A royal affair), Steve Speirs (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest) and Joel Fry (The iron Throne).

The producers are Ed Talfan (Apostle) for Severn Screen and David Aukin (Hyde Park on Hudson) for Daybreak Pictures, and is written by Jeff Murphy. BBC Films and Ffilm Cymru Wales produced the film. The crew includes editor Tania Reddin (funny cow) and director of photography Ulf Brantas (Wife).

WestEnd’s Cannes slate also includes Berlin title Mr Jones by Agnieszka Holland, with James Norton and Vanessa Kirby, documentary It changes everything on the underrepresentation of women in the entertainment industry, with Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett, and Banishmenta horror from genre director Chris Smith.
