Monkey Haven celebrates winning silver at the prestigious 2022 Charity Film Awards.
The gala ceremony took place at the Odeon Leicester Square on Tuesday 22 March.
The annual Charity Film Awards are in their fifth year and attract hundreds of entries, from big organizations like UNICEF and the British Heart Foundation to smaller ones like Monkey Haven.
The story of Monkey Haven is a detailed account of the mission to provide a happy and eternal home for rescued animals in need.
Narrated by Don Walser, the founder of Monkey Haven, the story is told through the lens of his 19-year-old granddaughter, Ellie Wickes.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have won the silver People’s Choice Award and we cannot thank you enough for all of your love and support in voting for our film.
“Growing up alongside Monkey Haven was a real experience for me. I saw my grandfather’s dreams come true and followed the journey through 19 years of my life.
“It’s my grandfather’s legacy and I loved sharing it with you all.”
The Charity Film Awards celebrate the effective use of film by charities to change minds and raise awareness for good causes and the work they do.
Kelly Wickes, manager of Monkey Haven, said:
“We were extremely proud that our film made it to the final, but winning a Silver Award is incredible and a wonderful achievement for our charity.”
